How often should my Chimney be swept?

• Smokeless fuel open fire or stove/room heater - Once a year
• Bituminous house coal open fire - Twice a year
• Wood burining stove - Every 3 months during use
• Gas appliance - all types except DGF - Immediately prior to installing the fire. Then annually if designed to be swept.
• Gas fire - open fuel effect DGF - Once a year in Autumn (or as recommended by the manufacturer).
• Oil fired appliance - Once a year
